I designed Shawbrook Lodge for a friend when we were both 24. It is a passive house. Its electricity bills are approx £60 per year. The client owns a forest to the rear which protect the house form the cold North but also provides fuel for the two wood burning stoves. It was a very successful project. We continuously work with this client and have a very good working relationship. The house is designed around sociability, for hosting dinner parties and having guests. We love it.
