A successful planning application for a 4 storey apartment block on the site of a protected Victorian school in Dublin city, including conservation and conversion to apartments within the school building.

This project added a lot of value to this derelict site, while maintaining the integrity of the Victorian facades.

Currently in the Design Stage, this project has a challenging site with a steep slope.

Elevations and building form will change, but overall style will remain consistent with Traditional Vernacular.

Internal floor plans reflect the clients’ “Way of Living” and preferred flow.

Render and Glass

The light wall or "clausta wall" is inspired by similar passive design techniques used in Cambodia. Although our climate is different, an added layer of glass allows the air and light to be controlled. It creates a dappled light effect.

The golden section or fibonacci series was used to work out the proportions of this contemporary wooden lined zinc box. This is the "safe" version, something that will get planning easily, and is seen as acceptable modernism. A lovely space too.

Zinc Exterior & Enamel Interior

The enamel enclosure is inspired by the material used throughout the household during the last century. It is a timeless material. It can take any form. The green colour unites the exterior and interior.

These images show the process of analysing the facade of a home. We survey, understand the original Architect's intent, derive the correct proportions to move forward with. This allows an extension to visually sit comfortably against the existing building.

A design for a holiday home extension in the sea side town of Enniscrone, County Sligo. This client asked for a charred wood “black-box” extension to create a better kitchen and master suite upstairs.

The kitchen has two new dining spaces, a kitchen island, full height cupboards, and bi-fold or sliding doors to an outdoor dining area.

The first floor master-suite now has a seating area that benefits from ocean views and aspect over rolling green fields.

We are passionate about pop-up stores. 

The designs feature a single main concept. The compact size of the store allow this concept to amplify itself . These stores are intended to be temporary art installations in line with each brand's identity.

The designs are simple with the aim of being affordable. They are fast and easy to install in a single day....but pack a punch!
